Department of School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular sciences (Lead Partner): The Lead Partner of the DERMA project has developed an expertise in biomaterials development and assessment (wound dressings and tissue regenerative matrices) and in microbiology aspects relevant to wound healing.

Within the department of Organic and Macromolecular Chemistry, the research group Polymer Chemistry and Biomaterials (PBM) is headed by Prof. Peter Dubruel and Prof. Sandra Van Vlierberghe. They have an expertise in the development of biomaterials.

The Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (PRS) is headed by Prof. Phillip Blondeel. They have developed expertise on the treatment of burn wounds.

Eurasante federates about 1100 health sectored companies in its region.
